Boston, MA– Life Skills Haiti Foundation, Inc., is delighted to announce it is now officially a non-profit public charity with tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. Life Skills Haiti Foundation, Inc. is also now eligible to apply for government and foundation grants, which will further extend its access to resources and strengthen its ability to provide support to youths learning a skill in the countryside of Haiti.
“Obtaining 501(c)(3) status is an important milestone for Life Skills Haiti Foundation, Inc. that will give us access to a larger pool of resources in order to support our vocational education program in Haiti and thereby students, and local institutions,” remarked Jean Pillard, Founder of Life Skills Haiti Foundation, Inc. “The granting of a non-profit status to Life Skills Haiti Foundation, Inc., is a significant achievement for our organization, and we are looking forward to increasing our efforts to provide students in the countryside of Haiti learning a skill, the tools that they need to be successful” he added.
Since its formation in May 2019, Life Skills Haiti Foundation, Inc., has been providing scholarships for young people aged 17-24 in the countryside of Haiti. The scholarships allow them to further technical and vocational skills training which enables them to make positive life choices. To help guide the organization and ensure fulfilment of its mission, a Board of Directors and supportive committees with a combined experience of over 130 years in education, leadership, charitable work, international relations, and management was assembled.
